Chorus engagements for 2017

 

28th January 2017

The chorus has been asked to take part in a show at The Customs House, Mill Dam, South Shields, NE33 1ES on Saturday the 28th of January. The show is a celebration evening for Cultural Springs who have strong links with Compass Acapella.

9th February 2017

Compass Acapella have been booked to sing on Thursday the 9th of  February  2017 in aid of Arthritis care. The concert is being organised by the Help and Support, South Shields Branch and will take place at the Charles Young Centre,Talbot Road, South Shields, NE34 0QJ. The show will commence at 7.30pm for an hour and will include guests to support the programme. 

A fabulous performance given by Compass sending a lot of people home very happy. Special thanks to 'The Blue Moon Trio' for a great guest spot.

 

4th March 2017

Compass have been asked to sing at Boldon Colliery Independant Methodist Church,North Road North, Boldon Colliery, NE35 9AF, to help raise funds for the church. The concert will start at 7.30 and will be for one hour.

The audience loved the concert performance given by Compass - ably supported by 'Out of the Blue' and 'True North'. The church has recently been the victim of theft where cash raised by children and vital equipment was stolen, and as well as the congregation enjoying a 'musical escape' much needed funds of £230 were raised to help replace the stolen items.

 

7th April 2017 

The chorus will be in concert to raise funds for the South Shields Ladies Lifeboat Guild on the 7th of April at St. Stephens Church, Mile End Road, South Shields, NE33 2AE. Special guests will also be joining Compass for the evening. The start time is 7.30pm and admission is £5 either by ticket or pay at the door.

Compass gave a superb performance tonight and thrilled the audience with the diversity of their repertoire. The audience were singing the performance songs as they happily left to go home. The concert was augmented by the chorus' two quartets 'Out of the Blue' and 'True North' and also by a stunning performance by all girl septet 'Enigma' who performed tonight for the first time and delivered a stunning set. The evening also raised over £300 much needed funds for the Ladies Lifeboat Guild. 

 

16th May 2017

Compass Acapella will be making a return visit to  All Saints Church, Cleadon Lane, Cleadon, Tyne and Wear, SR6 7UU. The concert to will commence at 7.30pm and guests for the evening will be Tyneside A Cappella 

A fabulous set delivered by the chorus supported by Tyneside A Cappella, and helping the church to raise funds.

 

19th May 2017

The chorus will be singing at The Church of the Holy Name, North Jesmond Avenue, Newcastle, NE2 3JX as part of the Jesmond festival. The concert will commence at 7.30pm.

A superb concert performed in a wonderful acoustic culminating in a standing ovation and encore. Two great guest spots from 'Out of the blue' and 'True North' to give the audience a wonderful night to remember.

Some audience feedback: great diction - particularly enjoyed the Les Mis song sung by convincing angry men. Well done to all! 

 

15th July 2017

Compass Acapella will join forces with Tyneside A Cappella at Beamish Museum on Saturday the 15th of July 2017. The lunchtime concert will commence at 1.30pm in the Masonic Hall in the town centre.

Another fantastic performance to a 'packed house' with our sister chorus Tyneside A Cappella.

 

16th September 2017

Tyneside A Cappella has invited the chorus to perform as guest artists in concert at St Edwards Church, Coquet Avenue, Whitley Bay, NE26 1EE, on the 16th of September 2017. The concert will start at 7.30pm. The concert is in aid of 'Walking With'-  a project which supports Syrian refugee families in North Tyneside.

A fabulous ‘double header’ concert with Tyneside A Cappella tonight. Twenty eight fabulous songs delivered with professionalism and precision to a capacity audience – lots of happy faces leaving at the end and a lot of money raised for the ‘Walking  With’ charity supporting Syrian refugee families in North Tyneside. The concert raised a staggering £1,314 on the night!

 

23rd September 2017

Compass Acapella will be performing in concert to raise funds for the Grafters Club, a charity based in the RVI in Newcastle, for children who have experienced burns injuries. The concert will take place in the prestigious Kings Hall which is part of Newcastle University and will commence at 7.30pm. The Kings Hall is in the Armstrong Building which is opposite the RVI on Queen Victoria Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 7RU. Special gusts for the concert will be Tyneside A Cappella.

A superb performance supported by Tyneside A Cappella raising over £1600 for this small but very worthwhile charity.

 

 

7th October 2017

The chorus will be performing in concert in Jubilee Hall, North Street, West Rainton, Co Durham, DH4 6NU. The start time will be 7.30 pm and special guests for the show will be Tyneside A Cappella

A thrilling performance given by both choirs to a packed house with a standing ovation, an encore, and £950 raised for the church charity.

 

18th November 2017

Compass are making a return visit to sing at Boldon Colliery Independant Methodist Church,North Road North, Boldon Colliery, NE35 9AF, to help celebrate the 132nd anniversary of the church. The concert will start at 7.30pm and will include Enigma as special guests for the evening.

The audience were enthralled by the eclectic mix of music presented by Compass Acapella with 'True North' and special guests ' Enigma'. The twenty songs were presented with warmth and sheer professionalism by all on the stage, with a rousing cheer at the end for Susan the talented Musical Director of Compass Acapella. It was a 132nd birthday to remember for the packed house.

 

24th November 2017

Compass have once agan been invited to sing at the Christmas tree festival held annually at All Saints in Cleadon. The performance will start at 7.30pm and special guests will be Enigma.

The audience were thrilled with fantastic performances by Compass, Out of the Blue and Enigma. Lots of fun, laughter and Christmas songs to send everyone away happy - and over £130 raised for church funds.

 

18th December 2017

For the third year in a row Tyneside A Cappella  will be staging a Christmas concert to raise funds for FACT (Fighting All Cancers Together) and Compass Acapella will be guesting once again, The show on Monday the 18th of December at The Little Theatre, 3 Saltwell View, Gateshead NE8 4JS . The concert will commence at 7.30pm.

At the end of our performing year the chorus gave a breathtaking performance with Tyneside A Cappella. The audience were thrilled by the mix of music and were singing the songs as they left the theatre. FACT were delighted with the evening which raised lots of money for this deserving charity.
