30th March 2019

The chorus will be performing in concert on Saturday the 30th of March at Holy Trinity Church, The Avenue, Washington Village, NE38 7LE. The concert is to raise funds towards the upkeep of the church and special guests for the evening will be Tyneside A Cappella. The concert starts at 7.30pm.

A great start to the concert year with a concert to a packed house with superb singing by the chorus, Tyneside A Cappella and South Side.

I felt I must drop you a line to thank you for the most entertaining concert last night.  The programme was well judged for the audience and slickly presented whilst maintaining a very relaxed atmosphere.  Please pass on my best wishes to all concerned.
 
I have not yet  received a full accounting but we seem to have taken over £500 on the door (with tickets and raffle) which is a splendid help towards our goal of improving our toilet and kitchen facilities.

Compass Acapella will be making a return visit to  All Saints Church, Cleadon Lane, Cleadon, Tyne and Wear, SR6 7UU. The concert to will commence at 7.30pm and guests for the evening will be Tyneside A Cappella

 

A stunning performance tonight from Compass who premiered two new songs. Great support from South Side and also Tyneside A Cappella and Enigma. The full  house enjoyed a wonderful mix of music and the event raised £446 for the church tower restoration.

 

11th May 2019

Compass will be presenting a concert in Talbot Road Methodist Church on Talbot Road, South Shields, NE34 0GL. The concert will commence at 7.30pm and special guests for the evening will be Tyneside A Cappella.

The packed and appreciative audience enjoyed two hours of fabulous entertainment. Compass, Tyneside  A Cappella, Enigma and South Side charmed the audience with a stunning collection of music helping to raise £300 for the church.

 

21st May 2019

The chorus will be in concert at High Southwick Methodist Church, Thompson Road, Sunderland, SR5 2JJ. The concert will start at 7.30pm and special guests for the evening will be Enigma.

The tiny Methodist Chapel was filled with music as Compass gave a fabulous performance to the almost full house. The audience loved the varied programme which was suppported by South Side. Special guests Enigma gave a stunning performance which added to the evening. The church raised £106 to go towards the repair costs of the church.

 

5th June 2019

Compass will be providing the entertainment at an Inner Wheel Presidents night at the Grand Hotel (formerly The Marriott), Queens Parade, Sunderland, SR6 8DB. This is a pivate event. 

The Inner Wheel President's night audience were treated to a dynamic cabaret set by Compass A Capella. The wonderful ladies octet Enigma also provided a stunning set and the chorus' quartet completed the package for the evening. The Inner Wheel made a £100 charity donation to Air Ambulance on behalf of Compass. A memorable evening for all concerned.

 

20th July 2019

Compass Acapella will join forces with Tyneside A Cappella at Beamish Museum on Saturday the 20th of July 2019. The lunchtime concert will commence at 1.30pm in the Masonic Hall in the town centre. 

A fabulous concert given by both choruses to a full house, suported by Enigma and South Side. Also a world premierre for a specially commisioned arrangement by Dr Liz Garnett of A million Dreams from The Greatest Showman. A very emotional song beautifully performed by Compass.

 

14th September 2019

The chorus will be singing as guests of Tyneside A Cappella to raise funds for Macmillan Nurses in a concert to be held in St Paul's Church, Ryhope Road South, Sunderland, SR2 0HH. The joint concert will start at 7.30pm.

A truly wonderful night of music was enjoyed by the packed audience in this beautiful church. The two choruses supported by Enigma and South Side charmed the congregation with a wonderful selection of music which was beautifully sung. The evning raised almost £400 for the Macmillan charity a truly worthy cause.

28th September 2019

The choir will be performing at St John's Church, Church Road, Sheriff Hill, Gateshead, NE9 5RD. This is a new venue for the choir and special guests for the evening will be Tyneside A Cappella. The concert will start at 7.00pm.

The church was full, there was an air of expectancy  and Tyneside A Cappella and Compass performed to a level that has never been heard before. The audience were spellbound by the wonderful programme of music which created one of those magical evenings. The evening raised £518 much needed funding for the church.

19th October 2019

Tyneside A Cappella has invited the chorus to perform as guest artists in concert at St Edwards Church, Coquet Avenue, Whitley Bay, NE26 1EE, on the 19th of October 2019. The concert will start at 7.30pm.

The two choirs and Enigma gave faultless performances to a full church. The evening raised £1207 for church funds.

Monsignor Faley commented:

The two choirs performed in harmony with each other and there were no soloist  just everyone singing for each other. Your performance was not just clever but also wise. Wise because it had depth, emotion and you communicated with each other and your audience. Singing without accompaniment is the most difficult type of singing and tonight both of the choirs were magnificent.

 

7th December 2019

Beamish Museum - Compass Acapella will be guesting in a Tyneside A Cappella Christmas concert in the Masonic Hall starting at 1.30pm. 

It was standing room only today as these two choirs supported by Enigma and South Side enchanted the audience with a mixture of Christmas music and popular songs. It's doubtful whether the Masonic Hall at Beamish has ever heard anything like this before.

14th March 2020 

Compass Acapella and Tyneside A Cappella will be singing on Saturday the 14th of March in St. Cuthbert's Church, 4 Ellison Street, Hebburn, NE31 1BP in a concert to raise funds for the church. The concert will commence at 7.30pm. 

Despite the cold weather and the Coronavirus outbreak, a sizeable audience turned out to be entertained by two  choruses delivering a stunning performances. The show also featured the fabulous Enigma and also South Side. Twenty eight songs delivered to the highest standard by acts on the top of their game. The concert raised £251 to go towards church funds.

 

24th April 2020 

The chorus will be in concert to raise funds on the 24th of April at St. Stephens Church, Mile End Road, South Shields, NE33 2AE. Special guests Enigma will also be joining Compass for the evening. The start time is 7.30pm.

 A wonderful concert  to a cold but full Masonic Hall. A wondeful start to the Christmas at Beamish.


26th April 2022

Compass will be giving a fundraising concert at All Saint's in Cleadon, 3 Sunderland Road,  SR6 7UR in the church hall. The concert will start at 7.30pm and special guests for the evening will be Tyneside A Cappella.

The concert raised £491 for the roof restoration costs.


14th May 2022

Compass will be performing as guests of Tyneside A Cappella in a funraising concert at St Peter's Church, Woodleigh Road, Monkseaton, Whitley Bay NE25 8ET. The concert will start at 7.30pm.

The chorus sang to a full house and the evening raised £882 for the church. The audience didn't want the night to end and turned up beaming with joy at the church the next morning.

 

7th June 2022

Compass will be taking part in a joint concert to raise funds for Ukraine. The concert sponsored by the Darlington Rotary Club will be at The Dolphin Centre, Horsemarket, Darlington, DL1 5RP.  The concert will commence at 7.30pm and more deatils will follow when they become available.

Compass along with three other local choirs presented a fabulous mixture of music to the two hundred people in the audience. The evening was a huge success and almost £1300 was raised for Ukrainian refugees in Poland.

 

21st June 2022

1st July 2022

Compass will be joined by Enigma to sing in a concert in Hetton-le-Hole Primitive Methodist Chapel, 16 Barnes St, Hetton-le-Hole, Houghton le Spring DH5 9EN. The concert will commence at 7.30pm.

Compass, Enigma and South Side provided a wonderful evening of entertainment for the audience. Below is a message from the organisers:

'Just wanted to say thanks so much for the concert on Friday night . It was very well received by all and over the last 3 days have just heard glowing reports. A huge success and a wonderful evening of music.
We raised £260 and this will go towards the upkeep and maintenance of church. As you saw for yourself it’s a big building to maintain.

2nd August 2022

Compass and Tyneside A Cappella will be performing in a joint concert at Seventeen Nineteen - Holy Trinity Church, Sunderland, Church Street East, Sunderland SR1 2BB. This newly renovated Grade 1 listed building will host the two choirs supported by Enigma and South Side. The concert will commence at 7.30pm.

The choruses gave a faultless performance to the audience who rapturously applauded every song of the evening. Enigma and South Side also gave faultless performances as well to help raise funding for the arts hub. The ‘package’ has been invited back to perform in the future.

 

6th September 2022

Compass have been invited to sing at the church of St. Lawrence the Martyr on Centenary Ave, South Shields NE34 6SF. Guests for the evening will be Enigma. More details to follow.

A fabulous show package presented by Compass with two stunning sets by Enigma. The audience were overwhelmed by the quality and variety of the music and left with smiles on their faces.

 

11th October 2022

The choir has been invited to sing at St.Alban's Church, Windy Nook Road, Gateshead, NE10 9SL on Tuesday the 11th of October. The concert is to raise funds for the church and will commence at 7.30pm. Special guests for the evening will be the  ladies close harmony ensemble Enigma.

Compass gave a stunning performance to a most appreciative audience and the evening raised over £200 for the church funds. Enigma performed two fabulous sets and the chorus quartet South Side augmented the programme and joined Enigma for the first public performance of the mixed voice ensemble Evolution. 

 

29th October 2022

Compass will be singing as guests of Tyneside A Cappella in a concert at St John's Methodist Church, Ilfracombe Gardens, Whitley Bay NE26 3ND. The concert is to raise funds for The Bay Foodbank and will commence at 7.30pm.

Both choirs gave a fantastic performance to a packed church. The choirs were supported by Enigma, South Side and Evolution and the concert raised £1240 for the Bay Food Bank.

 

12th November 2022

Due to a clash with an outdoor event this concert will be moved to the Spring of 2023. More details to follow.

6th December 2022

Compass and Tyneside A Cappella will be performing in a joint Christmas concert at Seventeen Nineteen - Holy Trinity Church, Sunderland, Church Street East, Sunderland SR1 2BB. This newly renovated Grade 1 listed building will host the two choirs supported by Enigma and South Side. The concert will commence at 7.30pm. The concert raised £400 for the charity

The full house at 17/19 were treated to a fabulous concert of Christmas songs from both choirs. The audience laughed, cried, sang and gave both choirs a standing ovation.

By popular request the chorus will be performing in a Christmas concert at St Peter's Church, Woodleigh Road, Monkseaton, Whitley Bay NE25 8ET. The concert will start at 7.30pm and special guests for the concert will be Tyneside A Cappella, Enigma and South Side. The concert raised £704 for the church.

Despite the weather it was a wonderful evening of Christmas songs presented by both choruses. The church was packed and the audience loved singing along to the music. The wonderful finale with both chorused singing White Christmas on stage sent the audience home with smiles on their faces and Christmas spirit in their hearts.
